Celebrating Apricot Lane Farms: A Beacon of Regenerative Agriculture at Our Farmers Markets
We are delighted to spotlight Apricot Lane Farms, a cherished member of our farmers market community, renowned for their commitment to regenerative agriculture and sustainable farming practices.
A Dream Rooted in Sustainability
In 2011, John and Molly Chester transformed a 234-acre plot in Moorpark, California, into Apricot Lane Farms. Their mission was to rejuvenate land depleted by years of industrial farming, aiming to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that harmoniously blends agriculture with nature.
A Flourishing Ecosystem
Today, Apricot Lane Farms cultivates over 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables and raises livestock, including cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks. Their farming methods prioritize soil health and biodiversity, resulting in nutrient-dense, flavorful produce.
A Story Worth Sharing
The journey of Apricot Lane Farms is beautifully captured in the acclaimed documentary, “The Biggest Little Farm,” which showcases the challenges and triumphs of building a regenerative farm from scratch.
